Description

Provides outpatient services to both child and adolescents under 18 years as well as adults over 18 years who have eating disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, binge eating disorder and other forms of disordered eating.

Eating disorders involve an intense fear of gaining weight and a dissatisfaction with body size and shape that leads to extreme practices of weight control which can result in serious physical and emotional health problems.

Program provides:

  • multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment using a non-dieting approach
  • group, individual or family treatment recommended to address nutritional, emotional and social needs
  • early intervention
  • collaboration with family physicians for assessment and treatment of medical needs
  • linkage and referral to local, district, regional and provincial services
  • follow-up after discharge from an inpatient or day program
  • education
  • outreach and consultation to other health care professionals
